Enroll Your Child

What is the admissions procedure?

Generally, families either set up an appointment with the Admissions Associate or attend an open house to learn more about St. Athanasius and the admissions and scholarship processes. After submitting the application and all the necessary documents, you will be called either with an admissions update or the opportunity to schedule a screening for your child (applicable for Pre-K through Kindergarten applicants). Families will receive a call after the child’s screening appointment with an admissions update. If accepted, a registration fee will be required within 1-2 weeks of acceptance in order to save a seat for your child for the fall of 2017.

When does the registration procedure begin?

Registration occurs on a rolling basis beginning in January and continues until all of the spaces in a given class are full. Returning stuents are given first priority during the re-registration period in late January to early March. Please register early to ensure your child has a seat for the following fall. Some of the classes fill up early, especially Pre-K and Kindergarten.

What is your average class size or student-teacher ratio?

For the 2016-2017 school year, our average class size for grades K-8 is 28 students and the average class size for Pre-K3 is 20 students and for Pre-K4 is 24. Pre-K3, Pre-K4 and K all have a full-time teacher and a full-time aide to ensure that students receive the attention and support they need.

Do you have to be Catholic to attend St. Athanasius School?

No – we accept children of all faith backgrounds. Tuition rates are the same for Catholic and non-Catholic families.

Does the school accommodate students with IEPs?

Each IEP is reviewed individually to see if the school can meet the child’s educational needs. Please bring in the most recent copy of your child’s IEP before taking a placement exam so we can assure the best educational setting for your child
