St. Athanasius’ recently renovated library has 8,000 volumes. A full-time librarian works with teachers and students to bring classroom learning into the library. Students also borrow books weekly and learn how to conduct proper research, finding reliable, unbiased sources of information. Our 8th graders develop a high-school level research paper on a social studies topic of their choice.
The St. Athanasius Library is a beautiful addition to the school. It won the prestigious Laura Bush Grant for America’s Libraries (2012), Library Connections awards (annually for 9 years) and the New Yorkers Read Grant (2011).
